A year and a half ago, Idrobase Group announced the eco-friendly transformation of its packaging through innovative solutions such as “dBase”: a variable-length cardboard tube sealed with a recyclable paper ribbon and label. Thanks to this initiative, the company has eliminated 1.5 million plastic packages in just one year — a figure expected to rise to 2 million by 2026. Based in Padua, near Venice, Idrobase Group is an Italian company recognized worldwide as a leader in pressurized water technologies.
Its commitment to sustainability is a response to a growing environmental challenge: each citizen of the European Union currently disposes of around 36 kilograms of plastic packaging every year, of which only 40% is recycled. Moreover, recycled plastic cannot fully return to its original raw state and must be blended with a significant share of virgin plastic (derived from hydrocarbons) for reuse.
“Everyone must do their part for the health of the planet,” says Bruno Gazzignato, Co-Owner of Idrobase Group. “We’re contributing by reducing packaging for spare parts and small components. Our new containers are made of recyclable cardboard and produced locally, supporting the regional supply chain.
”But sustainability is not the company’s only achievement. From its headquarters in Borgoricco, Idrobase Group has announced the creation of Idrobase Greece, a new subsidiary dedicated to the distribution of misting and dust suppression systems.
“It’s a new and promising market,” explains Bruno Ferrarese, Co-Owner of Idrobase Group. “After recovering from the economic downturn of recent years, Greece now offers significant growth potential. This is an important strategic move in a global context marked by a 50% overproduction rate, which has led to falling prices and declining product quality. In this scenario, success depends on offering innovative products — the only segment that continues to grow in terms of revenue. ”Driven by innovation, Idrobase Group — which is transforming its production processes through the Lean Method — has already participated in major trade fairs in Algeria, Germany, the United States, and Romania since the end of summer. Now, the company is preparing for its next major challenge: “From October 22 to 24, we will take part in Interclean Shanghai, where we’ll compete with the leading players on their home turf,” announces Ferrarese. “On this occasion, we’ll unveil new products that embody the best of ‘Made in Italy’ excellence. It will be a true test for the market — and a genuine surprise: we call it an oyster with a pearl inside. It will make its Italian debut at the next edition of Ecomondo.”
