There is a new product among the industrial dust-suppressor fog makers by
Idrotech, part of Idrobase Group Company: the Atex H.P. 50 bar fog maker, a
system conceived especially for areas at the risk of explosion, for example
in the presence of coal- or sulphur dusts.
The name ATEX conventionally refers to the directive 94/9/EC by the European
Union, which regulates the usage of equipments in potentially explosive
areas, and is an acronym of the French words ATmosphères and EXplosibles. The directive became law on the 1st of March, 1996,
and starting from the 1st of July, 2003 it compelled all EU Countries to have
the ATEX certification for every system sold within the EU itself,
irrespective of the country in which they are produced and of its laws, if
they are installed in areas at the risk of explosion (except under specific
circumstances).
